Bonjour! Ok, so I know you don't really want to see any pics; HOWEVER, if y'all bear with me and let me get it out of my system, I promise I won't say anything about France after this. (I think.)
I left Newark the 4th and arrived early Thursday morning. (I left 16, and got in Paris on my birthday! Coolness...) We went out for hot chocolate near the Louvre for my birthday. Good stuff. Saturday we went to l'Opera Garnier, which was pretty. Lots of mythological paintings and statues. We also went to the Louvre to see Napoleon III's apartments (Michael adores Napoleon).
Sunday night we went to the Eiffel Tower - and went all the way to the top! It was really cool, since the city was all lit up.
Monday was Notre Dame, which was beautiful! Definitely my favorite site. I could've stayed there for hours.
Thursday morning we went to Sacre Coeur and Montmarte (of which we had a nice view from our 13th floor balcony).
Friday we were going to see the Fashion Museum, but it was closed.

Olivia and I were very upset!! So we went to the Museum of Modern Art. Saturday we went back to the Louvre to see La Jaconda (aka the Mona Lisa). Personally, I was not at all impressed. I totally do not get the smile thing. But we did see David's original painting of the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte (Michael was enthralled).
Sunday we went with the students to Versailles! Yeah, disappointing. Our guide had us spend 2 hrs in the market, 2 hrs at lunch, and walk around nowhere important for another hour. The result? We went to the Dauphin's palace, but not the Grand Chateau (you know, the Hall of Mirrors, etc?). So it was nice, but....
Tuesday we went with Aunt Nicole's class to the Pere Lachais Cemetery. OOOOOOHHHH!!!!! I love cemeteries! We stayed in the newer part, so the oldest we got was 1810. We did see one from May 08. However, we saw the war and deportee memorials, Jim Morrison's grave, and Chopin's grave! A nice walk. I love cemeteries. Afterwards, we went to the Monmatton Museum, which is a private collection of Monet. ooooo That was amazing. Not the Musee d'Orsay, but beautiful paintings! We took a stroll down the Champ-Elysees, and had mousse chocolat like the first night. I left around noon Wednesday.
And I am still so out of wack it's not funny! I have no idea what time it is... I didn't get up until noon yesterday, but woke up at 6:30 this morning. I had my dance recital yesterday (fun!) and my gymnastics expo is today. Have fun on the beach, YG! But I home again - like anyone missed me. And I miss having fresh bread every morning. (By the end, Olivia and I could order it all on our own.
