  • Bonjour! Ok, so I know you don't really want to see any pics; HOWEVER, if y'all bear with me and let me get it out of my system, I promise I won't say anything about France after this. (I think.)

I left Newark the 4th and arrived early Thursday morning. (I left 16, and got in Paris on my birthday! Coolness...) We went out for hot chocolate near the Louvre for my birthday. Good stuff. Saturday we went to l'Opera Garnier, which was pretty. Lots of mythological paintings and statues. We also went to the Louvre to see Napoleon III's apartments (Michael adores Napoleon).

Sunday night we went to the Eiffel Tower - and went all the way to the top! It was really cool, since the city was all lit up.

Monday was Notre Dame, which was beautiful! Definitely my favorite site. I could've stayed there for hours.
    DSC00841
Thursday morning we went to Sacre Coeur and Montmarte (of which we had a nice view from our 13th floor balcony).
    DSC00666
Friday we were going to see the Fashion Museum, but it was closed. Olivia and I were very upset!! So we went to the Museum of Modern Art. Saturday we went back to the Louvre to see La Jaconda (aka the Mona Lisa). Personally, I was not at all impressed. I totally do not get the smile thing. But we did see David's original painting of the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte (Michael was enthralled).
Sunday we went with the students to Versailles! Yeah, disappointing. Our guide had us spend 2 hrs in the market, 2 hrs at lunch, and walk around nowhere important for another hour. The result? We went to the Dauphin's palace, but not the Grand Chateau (you know, the Hall of Mirrors, etc?). So it was nice, but....

Tuesday we went with Aunt Nicole's class to the Pere Lachais Cemetery. OOOOOOHHHH!!!!! I love cemeteries! We stayed in the newer part, so the oldest we got was 1810. We did see one from May 08. However, we saw the war and deportee memorials, Jim Morrison's grave, and Chopin's grave! A nice walk. I love cemeteries. Afterwards, we went to the Monmatton Museum, which is a private collection of Monet. ooooo That was amazing. Not the Musee d'Orsay, but beautiful paintings! We took a stroll down the Champ-Elysees, and had mousse chocolat like the first night. I left around noon Wednesday.

And I am still so out of wack it's not funny! I have no idea what time it is... I didn't get up until noon yesterday, but woke up at 6:30 this morning. I had my dance recital yesterday (fun!) and my gymnastics expo is today. Have fun on the beach, YG! But I home again - like anyone missed me. And I miss having fresh bread every morning. (By the end, Olivia and I could order it all on our own. )

And by the end of the meeting we were totally wasted... too much ale. I mean, lemon ale. That or the sparkling stuff...

Au revoir! Goodbye NJ, hello Ile-de-France!

    Homeschool Formal 2008

Our house was CRAZY yesterday! All seven Acostas were here (the basement was a major battlefield), and Zach, Julia, Hannah, and Mary came over to get ready for prom! We had a blast!!!

So these are the best of my pics... Hannah has a ton of the dance floor. We had a blast. Man, do girls EAT!! We all had a ton of food, and then got up and danced the whole time! I had so much fun... especially since my friends and I are cool - we do not obsess over appearances and (real) dates and such stupid stuff - we just go and have fun (and boy did we!!) We could get on the dance floor and be stupid, and still have a blast. I love my friends. Yesterday night was definitely one of the best of high school.

  • This Week the Trend...

My knuckles hurt. We did this mean drill Tuesday night, and I scraped lots of skin off. owch.

On Wednesday at Gymnastics I got my Shushinova AND did a standing tuck all on my own! (the crowds roar) YAY!

Friday was GCCS's Jr.-Sr., so Z and I went to Jul's house for hair. Yes, I used my amazing skills, and the Zachel looked so dazzling gorgeous, I almost considered exchanging my current date for the homeschool formal for her. In honor of HRE, I said Ticket F$ne Oh yeah. I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures. Just trust me, drop dead gorgeous.

This morning was SATs. yay. So Sarah isn't going to Harvard or anything like that. Then Mom and I went to a baby shower (Holly used to be my big sister). Then home for a relaxing evening. I was totally fired up all evening, like Dance like Nobody's Watching . And then I was playing on the computer, and found mochaFrap . And I thought of DSC00231 and remembered z26593518 and now I'm going to bed to cry.

  • One Crazy Weekend

SO, Mom and I have gone on a bunch of college visits for the past several weekends, but this was definitely the craziest. We left early Thursday morning (5 1/2 hrs of sleep) to visit Wheaton College in Illinois. Friday morning (after 3 hrs of sleep) was our "Wheaton Connection" Day... Our plane arrived in Philly at 8:56 PM. We arrived at the Jr Hi Rally at 10 PM. After an awesome night of hanging out, food (thank u, Mrs. G!!), and lots of good talks, Mr. M woke us up at 6:45 - after 1 hr of sleep. Some loser *coughstephencough* went home to get lots of sleep.

After a walk to WaWa, a 1 1/2 hr lesson, discussion group, games, lunch, and a huge group discussion, it is now 2 PM. So what do we do? We go set up for the Over 55 Dinner!!!! YAYAYAY!!! *groan* Some loser *coughreececough* went home and got to rest and take a shower before coming, but the rest of us just went on working. Mary and I demanded a WaWa run - so all 10 of us Sr Hi-ers went for stuff. We all came back, changed, and served the meal.

As always, the Dinner was a blast... hehehe... I dried all the dishes (after St. Laura washed the bulk of them). Cutting desserts was fun, and so was doing the dessert dishes (except for breaking the ladle. I almost cried). After cleaning up, we reveled in the glorious weather. Personally, I went home, put all my stuff away, showered, and went to bed. In case you didn't notice, I got less than 10 hrs of sleep in 3 nights. Still, a great weekend!!

  • PROM DRESSES 2008

Well, we did it again (2006)... hehehe.... We started at DEB (not that we actually took pictures *cough*) and then went to JC Penney. Swimsuit/shoe shopping! Everybody stayed at my house, and we watched Enchanted. Even Zach enjoyed it.

  • Easter Sunday

    easter_big

Once again, a nice *MARCH* day (yet warm) full of bunnies. Unless you were in my house. Mom found an easter egg that plays the hamster song. *sigh* As usual, all of the little girls were in pretty dresses - and even the big igrls dressed up this year! "Easter is the one day of the year I try not to wear any black." So of course, we took pics.
